Q: What are the qualifications I need to become a successful Zoup! franchisee?
A: The best candidates will have a high degree of personal integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong desire to succeed. Franchisees must have a proven ability to motivate and train employees as well as manage finances. A passion for the culture and product also are key. Restaurant experience is not required.
Q: What investment is required?
A: Single Unit
Net Worth: $350,000 Liquidity: $150,000 before financing.
Initial Investment: $219,900 - $432,600.
Multiple Unit
Net Worth: $700,000 Liquidity: $300,000 before financing.
Initial Investment: $219,900 - $432,600 per unit.
Franchise Fee
1st Franchise and Territory Fee --$39,000 + Area Development of additional units $20,000 per unit. Payment of $10,000 per unit upon signing Area Development Agreement and remainder $10,000 per unit upon signing lease agreement.
Q: How much money can I expect to make?
A: Profitability varies depending upon a number of factors including; sales, labor and food costs, location, occupancy and operating costs. Also, on your ability to manage and control the business. In our FDD (Franchise Disclosure Document) you will receive average sales figures for current Zoup! locations. Food and labor costs on the corporate owned and operated Zoup! locations are also included.
Q: Will Zoup! provide a location or help me identify one?
A: Zoup! will direct you to an approved real estate broker who is familiar with your market. You and the broker will explore the market and do an analysis of the best sites. You will submit your favorite sites for approval and our team will review the location and determine whether the proposed location meets Zoup! standards.
Q: Who will design and build my units?
A: The Zoup! approved designer will lay out your store and work with your architect to create a detailed set of plans. The plans can then be bid out by local contractors of your choice.
Q: Once I become a franchisee, how long does it take to open?
A: Approximately 3-6 months from the time you secure a site.
Q: Does Zoup! provide all food products to its franchisees?
A: Zoup! has exclusive suppliers for its products and will help arrange for distribution for additional items.
Q: What royalty does Zoup! charge? What does Zoup! provide in return?
A: Our weekly royalty is 6% of gross sales. Zoup! will continually provide operational and marketing support. We also will pay routine visits to your store to help you solve problems and identify ways to improve your business.
Q: Is there a marketing/advertising fee? What does Zoup! provide in return?
A. Your contribution to the National Advertising Fund is 1.0% of gross sales paid on a weekly basis. In addition, you are required to pay ½% of sales into the Customer Service, Mystery Shop, and Training Fund.
