FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: What are the qualifications I need to become a successful Zoup! franchisee? A: The best candidates will have a high degree of personal integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit and strong desire to succeed. Franchisees also must have a proven ability to motivate and train people and manage finances. A passion for the philosophy and product also are key. Restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
Q: What is the financial commitment required? A: We require franchisees to have a net worth of $300,000, with $100,000 in liquid assets.
Q: What does the initial franchise fee cover? A: This fee covers the right to use the Zoup! federally registered trademark, brand identity, products and systems. It also includes our involvement in the approval of the location and design plans for your restaurant, and the cost of your initial training.* * Does not include architectural design

Q: Will Zoup! provide any financing? A: We can direct you to outside financing sources that can assist you in financing your Zoup! store.
Q: How much money can I expect to make? A: Profitability varies depending upon a number of factors, including sales, labor and food costs, location, occupancy and operating costs. Also, on your ability to manage and control the business. In our UFOC you will receive the average sales.
Q: Will Zoup! provide a location or help me identify one? A: Zoup! will direct you to a professional real estate broker who is familiar with your market. You and the broker – using the worksheets, guidelines and resources found in the Z!Track Pre-Opening Program – will explore the market and do an analysis of the best sites. You will submit your favorite sites for approval and our staff will review the location and determine whether the proposed location meets Zoup! standards.
Q: Who will design and build my unit(s)? A: The Zoup! approved designer will layout your store and work with your architect to create a detailed set of plans. The plans can then be bid out by local contractors of your choice.
Q: Does Zoup! provide all food products to its franchisees? A: Zoup! has exclusive suppliers for most of its products and will help arrange for distribution for additional items.
Q: What royalty does Zoup! charge? What does Zoup! provide in return? A: Our weekly royalty is 5% of your net sales. Zoup! will continually provide operational and marketing support. We also will pay routine visits to your store to help you solve problems and/or identify ways to improve your business.
Q: Is there a marketing/advertising fee? What does Zoup! provide in return? A. Your contribution to the Advertising and Technology Fund is 1% of net sales paid on a weekly basis. The fee will cover the cost of shared advertising, ongoing public relations, annual listings in food guides, in-store promotions and development of print and communication materials. In addition, you are required to spend ˝% of sales on local advertising and promotions.
