EVANSVILLE — The city’s second ZOUP! Fresh Soup Co. restaurant will open at 11 a.m., Thursday, next door to Starbucks, on an outlot in North Park Shopping Center.
The Zoup occupies 1,810 square feet of space in the same building as the coffee outlet.
The location is off the southwest corner of First Avenue and Mill Road.
The timing for the opening appears ideal. Many soup lover’s will tell you nothing warms a person’s heart and soul on a cold winter day quite like a bowl of steaming soup.
Nooshin and Nasser Mehrnia, the independent owners of the North Park ZOUP franchise, also own the ZOUP at 6240 E. Virginia St. on the city’s East Side.
They marked their one-year anniversary on Virginia Street last November with an announcement of plans for the second store.
They said Evansville and Tri-State soup lovers had responded well to the East Side restaurant and they were encouraged to branch out to the North Side.
The North Park restaurant will seat around 40.
Its hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday.
The owners said beginning Thursday orders can be faxed at (812) 423-1803, or phoned in to (812) 423-1800 or placed online at www.zoup.com
