They call it Zoup! but it is soup you’ll get along with other healthful repasts at the restaurant opening soon at 4898 Portage St. NW in Jackson Township. From a collection of hundreds of recipes, Zoup! will offer a dozen varieties changing daily. Low fat? Try Veggie Waves of Grain or Frontier 7 Bean.
No dairy? Mulligatawny or Sesame Noodle Bow. Vegetarian? Tomato bisque or rustic vegetable bean. If you’re counting points, then spicy black bean chili or wild mushroom barley may tickle your total.
Salads, grilled sandwiches and baked goods will be on the menu.
The chain grew out of a soup-related business founded in 1997. Believing that any good soup is good for the soul, the partners now have 26 locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Connecticut, and New Jersey.
